EBRU (marbling)

Ebru which is shortly defined as water surface depiction, has kept a significant place amongst the traditional Turkish- Islamic arts ever since 15th century. Ebru, which means "cloud", illustrates the harmony of colors inspried in the internal world of an artist. It is obtained through the transfer of paints that are floated on the surface of water brought to the right point of density on paper or some other material.
